I am delighted to have been recommended Finny to project manage the interior design for our lovely second home in Devon.  She has made it a real home from home to the extent that it has become our preferred home!

Finny grasped my stylistic preferences very quickly as she showed me her portfolio of designs and I have found her to be a good listener, sympathetic to our needs and wishes and very supportive in making the right decisions. I trusted her wholly to furnish and decorate the house and pretty well gave her carte blanche with a budget to do so. Not only did she manage the furnishing in sensible and well thought out stages but she also managed builders and decorators efficiently to a timeline. Her style is simple but hugely effective and the choice of colour schemes, lamps, mirrors, cushions, flowers and even appropriate paintings is fantastic. I was particularly impressed with Finny and her husband’s vision for how to get the best out of each room and thanks to that we changed the layout of two of the bedrooms in order to gain more equilibrium in the sizes for the bedrooms. I have been kept fully abreast at every stage and Finny has relieved me of a huge pressure.

We have had plenty of complimentary comments from friends and family about her style and we are delighted with the result. I could not have done this job from a distance so to have had someone so effective and who takes such pride in the end result was worth every penny.

Last year I asked Finny for help to source and choose furniture for our house in Corfu we have recently built. Starting from scratch is fun but also very daunting. However, Finny helped me make a start and take the ideas on to complete the project. She is brilliant at working out what a client is trying to achieve and allows them to develop there own vision. We used some pieces from our home in Somerset that my husband and I already had and then found lovely large sofas, armchairs, lots of mirrors, beds, headboards, rugs, side tables and even always very difficult to find I think, lots of nice lamps! For around the pool and the various pretty terraces Finny found some very nice rustic chairs and tables again I didnt want anything looking to new so these all worked perfectly.

I will defiantly be calling on Finnys vast knowledge and expertise in for any future projects we might do.

I hope you have managed to take a well earned break after all your fabulous work in Devon.  With all your furniture, designs and colours it really is looking great and hope that we will find another opportunity to work together again shortly.

I have used Finny Muers-Raby twice to help with the design of my holiday cottage.

On the first occasion, I wanted to add an extra bedroom but the option of creating this upstairs was out of the question financially.  She came up with a design for converting the integrated garage into a utility area, shower room and downstairs bedroom.  This has worked perfectly within an affordable budget.  It also has the advantage of allowing me to offer facilities for elderly or disabled visitors.

Recently, I have been working to upgrade the appearance of the main sitting room, which has become rather tired and old-fashioned looking.  In current economic conditions I could not afford to invest large sums on new furniture, which anyway would not suit a traditional country cottage.  Finny completely redesigned the layout, using existing furniture, and only requiring the purchase of a couple of new chairs.
